About the role
The Rehabilitation Council of Texas (RCT) is seeking a RCT Coordinator (Planner II) to support council initiatives. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of council initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute logistics for hybrid quarterly council meetings, committee meetings, strategic planning sessions, and Comprehensive Statewide Needs Assessment town halls.
- Provide live technology support during online/hybrid meetings, present verbal budget and travel reports to the council, and prepare official meeting minutes from audio/video recordings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners and stakeholders. Coordinate meetings and collaborations with groups such as the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) and communicate regularly with the Governor’s Office to facilitate, process, and track RCT member appointments.
- Monitor, triage, and respond to all incoming RCT communications via email and phone, distributing pertinent information to council members. Organize logistics for RCT conference participation, ensure proposed conferences and activities are routed through proper approval channels, and represent the council by staffing exhibit tables at events as needed.
- Process requisitions for all council operations, including office supplies, website expenses, and conference registrations. Champion accessibility by procuring and coordinating essential accommodations, including American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) services.
- Manage, update, and maintain accurate information on the external RCT website (src-texas.org) as well as the internal RCT webpage on the TWC intranet site.
- Maintain official council files and records in compliance with retention schedules. Process all travel authorizations and expense reimbursement forms for RCT members in accordance with state travel guidelines.
- Project manage the creation of the RCT Annual Report. Gather necessary operational and program data, coordinate cross-functionally with various teams, and oversee the drafting, design, and final publication of the report.
- Provide general administrative, logistical, and operational support to the broader Communications and Partnership team as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the agency and the council.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in planning and/or research, or in administrative management including experience in planning and/or research.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in planning, program administration, event coordination, or executive administrative support.
- Experience working in state government, specifically with Texas state travel, procurement, and requisition processes.
- Familiarity with vocational rehabilitation programs, disability services, or working alongside boards and councils.
- Experience coordinating accessibility services (ADA compliance, ASL, CART).
- Experience managing website content using standard Content Management Systems (CMS).
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, communications, planning, or a related field.
- Experience in planning, program administration, event coordination, or executive administrative support.
- Experience working in state government, specifically with Texas state travel, procurement, and requisition processes.
- Familiarity with vocational rehabilitation programs, disability services, or working alongside boards and councils.
- Experience coordinating accessibility services (ADA compliance, ASL, CART).
- Experience managing website content using standard Content Management Systems (CMS).
