About the role

The RCS Manager – Pediatric Billing role is a broad, full-cycle revenue management position covering self-pay discovery, authorizations, and Medicaid follow-up. Reporting to the RCS - Director, this manager oversees a team of 18 and collaborates with leaders and teams across the broader RCS organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 18 across self-pay discovery, authorizations, and Medicaid follow-up
  • Ensure each team member meets production and quality expectations
  • Oversee billing operations start-to-finish, including payer follow-up and authorizations
  • Participate in all Pediatric Billing leadership and individual team meetings
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams across the broader RCS organization
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to achieve consistent, benchmark-level outcomes
  • Manage resources and performance within budget parameters
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new team members through system and leadership training

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of business and reimbursement management with an undergraduate degree preferred
  • At least three years of experience with hospital or physician billing strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of healthcare billing terminology concepts and processes
  • Able to plan and manage the utilization of resources
  • Interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings
  • Able to organize and manage work to achieve performance expectations
  • Able to promote teamwork and develop team members
  • Passionate commitment to continuous performance improvement

Qualifications

  • Billing Expert: Five or more years of professional billing experience and fluency in payer follow-up, authorizations, self-pay, and Medicaid
  • Proven Leader: Experience managing people and developing talent, building trust, and holding teams accountable
  • Process Improvement Minded: Ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements
  • Analytically Strong: Comfort with data analysis, trend identification, and decision-making based on numbers
