RCP II - Per diem

Qualifications

• Education: Associates Degree (required), Program AMA approved respiratory care program (required)
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner License - RCB - Respiratory Care Board of California (required)
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - NBRC - National Board for Respiratory Care (required)
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association NICU only; required prior to hire or transfer into position within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • NNP-BC - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Board Certification - NCC - National Certification Corporation (preferred)

Work Experience

• Minimum one (1) year Full time equivalent respiratory therapy experience (required)
• OrMinimum six (6) months Pediatric experience in an area of practice (required)

Skills And Abilities

• Mastery of the RCP I performance standards and accompanying competencies and completion of Unit-Based Orientation and competencies.
• RCP staff will have attended NICU Intermediate Core class prior to starting orientation to the satellite units (NNN, HNN, and MNN).
• Bilingual Skills Preferred.
