Job Summary

As our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes. Every day, you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Applies clinical knowledge and expertise for coordinating patient care by regularly planning and evaluating the respiratory care of patients.
• Demonstrates effective respiratory care judgment and a working knowledge of the respiratory process.
• Guides interdisciplinary team members by supervising respiratory interventions and assisting with related tasks.
• Provides leadership by establishing priorities and coordinating respiratory care.
• Documents and communicates all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate member of the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Captures and coordinates plan of care with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to achieve desired goals and outcomes.

Required Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Respiratory care services in the pediatric department shall be provided by respiratory care practitioners who are licensed by the state of California and who have completed formal training in pediatric respiratory care which includes didactic and clinical experience, upon hire.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire.
• One (1) year previous experience as an RCP in acute care and Two (2) years of acute care experience, including critical care and neonatal intensive care for lead therapist positions and Experience in pediatric mechanical ventilation and airway management for working in the pediatric sub-acute unit, upon hire.

Preferred

• One (1) year previous experience as an RCP in acute care and Two (2) years of acute care experience, including critical care and neonatal intensive care for lead therapist positions and Experience in pediatric mechanical ventilation and airway management for working in the pediatric sub-acute unit, upon hire.
