RCDD Engineer
GDIT is seeking an RCDD Engineer to join our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen (JSP ETM - NG) program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This role requires full-time onsite work; telecommuting is not allowed.
About the role
Responsible for maintaining the Inside Plant cable infrastructure—conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated elements—in the Pentagon, Mark Center, and buildings within the NCR supported by JSP. The role involves following JSP and commercial best practices, standards, and providing Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) for cable rack installation, wiring, and testing. Additional duties include:
- O&M support as an ISP Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) for 1800+ Telecommunication rooms at the Pentagon, Mark Center, NCR, and outlying buildings under JSP Operations purview.
- Conducting on-site surveys and providing weekly reports on survey results (except in extenuating circumstances).
- Developing maintenance plans for corrections and ensuring compliance with EIA/TIA 568A & 568B standards.
- Performing 24/7/365 break-fix on all Inside Plant cable infrastructure under JSP purview.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 9+ years of experience developing layout and design for technology systems, including voice, data, and structured cabling.
- US Citizenship.
Skills
- Proficiency in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, and other industry standards related to IT, low voltage, and telecommunications systems design and layout.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Visio for producing cut-sheets and floorplans.
- Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from installation and basic design perspectives.
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel of various expertise levels.
- Solid customer support skills in a high-visibility environment.
- Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $161,000, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
