Position Summary

The Residential Transport Specialist (RTS) plays a critical role in supporting client care, maintaining a safe and secure residential environment, and ensuring operational efficiency. This position is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from approved destinations while maintaining a supportive, trauma-informed approach. When not providing transportation, the Residential Transport Specialist supports facility safety and security by conducting routine patrols, responding to safety concerns, assisting with behavioral crises using approved de-escalation techniques, and helping maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport clients to appointments, activities, admissions, discharges, and other approved destinations.
  • Maintain professional, trauma-informed care and interactions with clients.
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections and maintain logs for safety and compliance.
  • Document and logs as it relates to client transport and incident reporting.
  • Conduct facility patrols and support safety and security initiatives.
  • Aid staff during behavioral crises using approved de-escalation techniques.
  • Support emergency response procedures and operational needs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred experience in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, healthcare, transportation, or crisis intervention environments.

Required Certifications/Training

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Narcan administration training

Employment Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
  • Pass a background check
  • Health physical screen and negative TB test
  • Drug and Alcohol screening
