Ranger / Camp Host

About the role

ELS is the ideal organization for developing a long and successful career. The position of Ranger / Camp Host is available in Urbanna, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Walking or patrolling the campground grounds to answer questions, enforce rules, and ensure guest safety.
• Handling stressful situations calmly and following local, state, and federal laws.
• Maintaining the property by monitoring for issues and securing it.
• Ensuring guests comply with resort rules, addressing concerns, and contacting law enforcement if needed.
• Monitoring incoming guests at the campground gate, validating access, and performing routine patrols.
• Performing golf cart and rental inspections, taking camping reservations, checking guests in and out, and selling day passes and items at the store.
• Prioritizing guest safety and happiness.
• Providing on-call emergency services as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills, along with proficiency in using computer applications.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Quick and reasonable problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly demeanor.
• Experience in security or law enforcement, or working in an RV environment, is beneficial.
• A valid driver's license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
• The ability to work weekends and holidays regularly.

Qualifications

Exceptional customer service and communications skills are essential. A friendly demeanor is also important.
