Range Guide I - West Ft. Worth

About the Role

The Range Guide serves as the primary liaison for customers who come to shoot, purchase products, or participate in training. The role involves handling customer transactions, performing range safety officer duties, and supporting special events and leagues to ensure an exceptional experience that encourages repeat business and referrals.

Key Duties

• Learn and proficiently operate the point‑of‑sale system while delivering excellent customer service.
• Directly sell lane rentals, firearm rentals, shooting accessories, and retail items.
• Guide customers through the Shoot Smart experience, ensuring a safe and enjoyable time.
• Maintain range safety and enforce compliance with all policies.
• Complete cleanliness and safety tasks assigned by supervisors promptly and efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Experience in retail sales or customer service preferred.
• Firearms proficiency and basic knowledge a plus.
• Ability to obtain NRA Range Safety Officer certification, NRA Pistol Trainer certifications, and Red Cross First Aid certification (Shoot Smart will assist with necessary certifications).
• Excellent customer service skills and strong persuasion abilities.
• Proven ability to operate a cash register.
• Experience or training in the safe operation, storage, and troubleshooting of firearms.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to lift 25 lb or more and stand for long durations.
• Demonstrate Shoot Smart’s five core values.

Schedule & Availability

This full‑time position requires a minimum of 32 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and certain holidays. Weekend availability is mandatory. The store will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
