About the role

Shoot Smart is a family‑owned business with four locations across the Metroplex, recognized as Fort Worth’s Best Gun Shop and Best Gun Range. The Range Guide serves as the primary liaison for customers who come to shoot, purchase products, or attend training. The role involves handling customer transactions, performing range safety officer duties, and supporting special events and leagues, all while embodying Shoot Smart’s core values: Helpful, Smart, Professional, Passionate, and Driven to Grow.

Responsibilities

• Learn and proficiently operate the point‑of‑sale system while delivering excellent customer service.
• Directly sell lane rentals, firearm rentals, shooting accessories, and retail items.
• Guide customers through the Shoot Smart experience to ensure a safe, fun time.
• Maintain range safety and ensure compliance with all policies.
• Keep the range clean and safe by completing all tasks assigned by supervisors promptly and efficiently.
• Participate in special events and leagues as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Experience in retail sales or customer service preferred.
• Firearms proficiency and basic knowledge a plus.
• NRA Range Safety Officer certification.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong persuasion abilities.
• Proven ability to operate a cash register.
• Experience or training in the safe operation, storage, and troubleshooting of firearms.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to lift 25 lb or more and stand for long durations.
• Demonstrate Shoot Smart’s five core values.

Schedule

Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be at least 18 years of age. This part‑time position is limited to no more than 30 hours per week, with mandatory weekend availability. The range is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
