Ranch Hand

About the role

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Ranch Hand for their corporate-owned ranch in Fort Stockton, TX. The ranch spans 40,000 acres and includes a deer farming facility. It hosts corporate employees and hunters year-round, with a particularly busy hunting season. This is a full-time, year-round position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the well-being of livestock and administer medication/vaccines
• Maintain the ranch through building upkeep, lawn care, and irrigation
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as oil changes, batteries, and tires
• Assist guest hunters and provide transportation to and from hunting stands
• Skin and quarter harvested game
• Plant and cultivate pivots for wildlife forage
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous ranch experience is not required
• Experience with livestock and/or heavy equipment operation in the oil field, farming ranch, or a mechanic/machine shop is highly preferred
• Active driver’s license and ability to pass a background check

Multiple positions available. Teams of 2 (Ranch Hand + Lodge Assistant) are preferred—shared housing included.
