Ramp Supervisor

Role Purpose: The Ramp Supervisor will supervise the unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. Responsibilities will also include driving and operating small specialized commercial vehicles.

• Supervise lead agents; allocate ramp agent resources as needed
• Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft
• Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
• Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
• Interview, hire, train, appraise performance, reward, discipline, address complaints, and resolve problems related to violations of company policy
• Complete shift reports and sign timecards
• Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
• Avoid and terminate employees as needed
• Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
• Operate motorized equipment

What We Are Looking For

• Prior Ramp/Airline experience required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
• Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
• Comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
• Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs Seal
• Has a duty to suggest any improvements to working practices, especially those relating to Safety and security
• Must have read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual and the Station Security Manual
• Must have high school diploma, GED
