About the role

Ramp Agents at SkyWest are responsible for processing baggage, loading and unloading aircraft, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Process baggage between baggage areas and aircraft
• Receive and dispatch aircraft
• Stack and unstack baggage in aircraft
• Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment
• Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts)
• Read and interpret aircraft load sheets and checked baggage tags
• Escort passengers and special-needs customers safely and courteously
• Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid, unrestricted, state-issued driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain and maintain position-specific clearances including FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances
• Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
• Lift heavy bags over 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
