Ramp Agent - Cargo Services

About the role

This role involves unloading and loading luggage, freight, and cargo onto and off commercial aircraft. It also includes driving and operating small specialized commercial vehicles, performing physical searches of aircraft interiors and exteriors, and conducting safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, stacking, and kneeling in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment and small specialized commercial vehicles.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Conduct physical searches of empty interiors and accessible exterior of the aircraft to detect prohibited articles and unlawful interferences that may jeopardize the security of the aircraft.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or six months prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must be comfortable lifting 70 lbs. repetitively.
• Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs Seal.
