Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Experience as a Ramp Agent in a Part 121 environment preferred.
- Ability to perform all physical below wing duties.
- Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Aircraft Marshalling and wingwalking.
- Loading and Unloading of Aircraft.
- Familiarizing and hands on training on the safe operation of ground equipment (specific to equipment being operated).
- Aircraft servicing (includes catering).
- Ramp operations including safety rules, ramp markings (signs, signaling devices, lights and blast fences), equipment operating rules and procedures for positioning ground equipment around aircraft.
- Local airport rules and regulations (speed limits, roadways, etc.).
- Deicing Training in cold weather stations as per the Deice Manual (DIM).
- Be familiar with aviation security, weight and balance programs.
- Reporting safety hazards concerns, hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents to immediate Supervisor.
- Protecting passenger baggage from damage, loss, and weather conditions.
- Reporting equipment problems to the AIC or the Station Manager.
