About the Role
To ensure a consistently memorable customer shopping experience while generating meaningful revenue and positive operating profit for the store. Lead the sales floor to deliver a high standard of service excellence, build client relationships, and uphold the company culture. Partner with the General Manager to learn leadership responsibilities and positively influence the store team.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales and profit performance in the assigned store or department, ensuring sales and margin goals are met.
- Collaborate with the General Manager/Department Manager to develop and monitor operating budgets.
- Set individual sales goals for associates and supervise staff to maximize sales and profit performance.
- Maintain a welcoming environment that generates customer traffic and builds loyalty by exceeding customer expectations.
- Coach and mentor staff to implement initiatives that support exceptional customer service standards.
- Uphold company policies and the Ralph Lauren Formal Counseling process.
- Provide feedback to buying and allocation teams to identify high-potential merchandise and classifications.
- Execute visual presentation initiatives that align with Ralph Lauren’s desired image and character.
- Establish and implement loss prevention procedures to reduce shrink and protect assets.
- Recruit, supervise, and develop staff, ensuring open roles are filled in a timely manner.
- Create programs to motivate personnel and increase unit sales and transaction volume.
- Work with Senior Management to execute promotional strategies that support sales, marketing, and profit objectives.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm and ability to build and maintain an environment that reflects Ralph Lauren’s elevated image and character.
- Strong leadership skills, including negotiation, teamwork, motivation, and staff development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical skills, business acumen, and financial acumen.
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Workday, and Outlook.
- Ability to maneuver around the sales floor, stock/dressing rooms, cash wrap, and office; work with chemicals; lift up to 30 lbs.; and climb a ladder as trained under RL Health & Safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate the register and stand, move, or walk for extended periods.
