Railcar Repair Technician - Mobile Railcar Repair

About the role

The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railcars to ensure they are safe and operational. This includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance tasks, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars for damage and perform necessary repairs
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents
• Document findings and actions taken during inspections and repairs
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 2 years of related work experience in railcar maintenance or repair
• Knowledge of railcar systems and components
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• First aid certification

Qualifications

• Proficient in using hand tools and power equipment
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Proficiency in railcar maintenance software
• Experience with railcar inspection tools
• Understanding of railcar safety regulations

Pay

$20-$25 per hour based on experience

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
