About the role
Inspect railcars daily and perform all necessary repairs. Execute program work based on provided scope of work, including heavy repairs such as welding and fabrication, as well as railcar part change-outs in the field on a work track.
Responsibilities
- Daily inspection of railcars
- Performing necessary repairs on railcars
- Completing program work from a provided scope of work
- Making heavy repairs including welding and fabrication
- Conducting railcar part change-outs in the field on a work track
Requirements
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to use an oxygen/acetylene (propane) torch
- Proficient in MIG and stick welding
- Good spatial awareness
- Attention to detail to notice irregularities
- Strong time management skills
- Reliable and able to work occasional weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs for short periods
- Capable of walking up to 10 miles per day
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt
Schedule
Monday–Friday with occasional weekend and holiday work.
