Railcar Repair Supervisor - 2nd Shift

About the role

Transco Rail Services, part of Marmon Holdings (a Berkshire Hathaway company), operates a growing network of railcar repair facilities and field service teams across North America. This 2nd Shift Mechanical Railcar Repair Supervisor role leads frontline operations at the Oelwein, Iowa facility, ensuring quality, safety, and daily execution on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees across repair activities
• Drive safe work practices and ensure adherence to all safety standards
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, AAR, company, and customer requirements
• Monitor daily production, track work in process, and update job status
• Participate in daily production meetings and communicate progress updates
• Partner with Quality and EHS teams to maintain compliance and audit readiness
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of employees
• Manage materials and equipment in coordination with Materials leadership
• Identify improvement opportunities and support process enhancements
• Address employee relations matters, including coaching and corrective actions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years of experience in railcar repair, manufacturing, or industrial operations
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
• Knowledge of FRA regulations and AAR Interchange Rules
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred)
• Experience leading in a regulated environment (preferred)
• Background in
