RAIL MATERIAL HANDLER - (SEASONAL)

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations.
• Moves freight, stock and other materials by hand or by using heavy equipment.
• Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers in a safe and efficient manner while complying with all federal, state, local and company policies.
• Aid in performing or scheduling repairs or preventive maintenance of vehicles or other equipment.
• Sometimes perform these tasks at elevated platforms with heavy tools.
• Loads or unloads railcars or trucks by operating heavy equipment and/or hand tools.
• Unloads and inspects incoming materials and verifies receipts.
• Keeps records of materials received.
• Keeps facility yard clean and organized.
• Maintains & cleans vehicles, machinery and other equipment and recommends safety improvements.
• Ensures OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Degree, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
