About the role
This position works a four day on and four day off schedule.
Responsibilities
- Receive copy of yard check with morning instructions.
- Weigh outbound railcars.
- Respot any cars that are left.
- Receive inbounds, get list with instructions on where to put cars.
- Weigh cars in and spot terminal.
- Certified on Switch Engine Operation.
- Follow company policies and comply with company regulations.
- Cooperate and support colleagues.
Mental/Physical Requirements
- Close proximity to hazardous petrochemicals.
- Perform physical labor.
- Work outside in all weather conditions with protective gear.
- Climb on ladders - various heights.
- Carry/handle heavy objects - hoses, nozzles, etc.
- Lift 20 lbs. – 50 lbs. on regular basis.
- Bend/stoop on regular basis.
- Walk/stand for long periods of time.
Tools and Equipment Utilized
- Personal safety equipment.
- Tank gauges.
- Hand tools.
- Fixed cranes.
- Switch engines/Rail car movers.
- Fire fighting equipment (as training allows).
