About the role
In the role of Rail Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to support the development of bid plans for railroad bridges, retaining walls, box culverts and associated railroad structures.
- Analysis, design, and detailing will be included.
- Daily activities may also include utilizing conventional AREMA bridge engineering design procedures, performing structural calculations, assisting with geometric layout, developing structural details, and using specialized software such as LARSA, MathCAD, LEAPBridge (CONSPAN), LPile, FB MultiPier and MicroStation.
Responsibilities
- Assign, supervise, and review work and/or check design calculations, plans, estimates and specifications produced by junior engineers and Bridge EITs.
- Occasional bridge inspections of in-service bridges, or bridge construction, may be required.
- Concurrent project management, and task management, of smaller projects may also be included.
Requirements
- Master's degree in civil engineeringSE, or plan to obtain SE license
- 5+ years of experience in bridge and transportation structures design
- AREMA design and railroad bridge inspection experience
- Task management skills
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
- Experience managing junior staff
- Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits. $84,819.00 - $121,070.00.
