Rail Bridge Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Freight Rail Bridge Engineer to join our team. This role involves the design and detail of fixed and movable span bridges, culverts, crashwalls, and other railroad-related structures. You will also be responsible for reviewing and providing detailed designs for other projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role, under the direction of a Project Manager.
• Work and communicate with the client to develop timely solutions.
• Oversee the work of EITs and Junior Project Engineers.
• Take responsibility for project involvement, ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase.
• Work as an effective team member to develop solutions for projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in bridge design
• Previous experience in bridge design
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design.
• Experience managing junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment.
