About the role
The Radiology Technologist at OrthoCarolina is responsible for providing diagnostic quality radiographs while ensuring the safety of both employees and patients through adherence to appropriate protection standards.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
- Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.
- Selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
- Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
- Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department.
- Complies with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
- Aids in the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.
- Aids in patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
- Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
Qualifications
- Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
- Current CPR certification recommended.
