Radiology Technologist – Special Procedures (MSK & IR Neuro)

About the role

This position involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily in MSK Special Procedures and Neuro Interventional Radiology suites. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, operating fluoroscopy and imaging devices, and supporting minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as stroke interventions, biopsies, and injections. It requires working in a fast-paced environment, participating in on-call rotations, and responding to emergent cases. On-the-job training is provided for candidates with strong procedural imaging backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for imaging procedures.
• Operate fluoroscopy and imaging devices.
• Support minimally invasive, image-guided procedures (e.g., stroke interventions, biopsies, injections) in MSK Special Procedures and Neuro Interventional Radiology suites.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, participate in on-call rotations, and respond to emergent cases.
• Perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures while maintaining sterile technique and proper equipment operation.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and imaging quality.
• Receive on-the-job training (provided for candidates with strong procedural imaging backgrounds).

Qualifications and Skills

• Associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography (R.T.(R)) or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in interventional radiology, cath labs, or neuro IR procedures, with proficiency in fluoroscopy and sterile techniques.
• Strong procedural imaging skills; additional certifications such as CT, MRI, or vascular imaging are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, responding effectively to emergent cases.

Requirements

• Experience preferred but not mandatory; training available for qualified candidates.
• Licenses and certifications such as RTR, CT, MR, BD, CI, VI, and CPR are desirable.
