Radiology Technologist - Nights

About the role
We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist on a full-time basis. You will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients to assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment, performing procedures accurately and in a careful, compassionate, and respectful manner. Night shift availability is necessary for consideration. Anticipated schedule is Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday (4x10s).
Responsibilities
- Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment, including surgical, portable, trauma, general, and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures.
- Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images, ensuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation, utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated.
- Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate the patient and assist in the administration of contrast media when indicated.
- Prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring modesty and safety, utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices as indicated.
- Document all pertinent clinical information prior to the exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and other caregiver colleagues, including the radiologist.
- Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases, and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
Requirements
- Completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school.
- Valid ARRT certification.
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

About the workplace
HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 380+ bed hospital located in Bradenton, FL, on a thirteen-acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota, and DeSoto Counties and have received verification by the American College of Surgeons.
