Responsibilities
- Takes radiographs per physician orders.
- Ensures 95% of films are satisfactory as measured by repeat rate.
- Signed out requests with correct information.
- Ensure history pertinent to ordered exam is included in requests.
- Work flexibly within the diagnostic department of Radiology.
- Perform exams listed in the routine book.
- Protect patients and employees from unnecessary radiation.
- Use technical factors to ensure exams are diagnostic without unnecessary radiation.
- Use shielding when necessary without compromising the exam’s purpose.
- Evidence of coning and lead orientation markers on all films.
- Knowledge of front desk operations and computer systems.
- Can schedule all exams done through the whole department.
- Can use the centralize transport program for patient transportation.
- Can look up pertinent information in the computer systems concerning patient exams.
- Able to interact professionally with other departments.
- Can effectively call in needed on call imaging associates as required.
- Remains available for assignment as needed.
- Assists the Radiologic Technologist Students.
- Performs operational duties related to equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance, ordering of supplies, scheduling of staff, and hospital and departmental audits.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology school, or equivalent on-the-job experience/training.
- Eligible for certification by the ARRT in Radiology.
- Successfully graduated from a program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Obtain a valid Ohio license as a Radiographer within 4 weeks after start date.
