About the role
A Radiology Technologist who operates x-ray, fluoroscopic, and digital imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs, assists radiologists during procedures, and ensures patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray, fluoroscopic, and digital imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
- Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic and mini-special procedures, including in surgery and trauma settings.
- Prepare patients by obtaining history, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort.
- Verify patient and procedure details before imaging.
- Review radiographs for quality and adhere to safety and sterile techniques.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and work environment, ensuring cleanliness and inventory management.
- Follow radiation safety protocols and assist with patient positioning and restraint, especially for children and elderly patients.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including attending in-services and maintaining certifications.
- Ensure compliance with procedural standards and promote a professional, cooperative attitude with staff, patients, and families.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of general radiography experience; surgery and fluoroscopy trained.
- Knowledge of RIS/HIS systems and computer skills.
- ARRT registration.
- CPR certification required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with patient movement.
