About the role

Under the supervision of a radiologist and the direction of department leadership, this position competently performs imaging on all general radiographic equipment and is provided the opportunity and encouragement to expand their skill set into other modalities such as Interventional Radiology, Mammography, CT, MRI, and Bone Density. Responsible for appropriate scanning and imaging protocols in all qualified areas where competent and certified. Must have the ability to recognize general radiography anatomy. Responsible for providing service excellence and complying with hospital policies and procedures. Uses the RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of patient exams and dissemination of patient results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging on general radiographic equipment
  • Expand skill set into modalities such as Interventional Radiology, Mammography, CT, MRI, and Bone Density
  • Apply appropriate scanning and imaging protocols in all certified areas
  • Recognize general radiography anatomy
  • Provide service excellence and comply with hospital policies and procedures
  • Use RIS/PACS and HIS for recording patient exams and disseminating results
  • Accommodate scheduling flexibility to support patient flow and staffing patterns
  • Provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues for patients of all age groups

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved and accredited Radiology Technology program
  • Recent, up to one year, hospital-related experience
  • Digital Imaging and post-processing PACS experience
  • Experience with portable and in-department fluoroscopy procedures
  • Experience with Operating Room procedures

Qualifications

  • Current state R.T. license required
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association
  • Must obtain 24 ECE credits in a two-year period for re-certification and licensure
  • Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification
  • ARRT Certified (Specialty ARRT Certifications highly desirable; must obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills

Skills

  • Ability to maintain competencies in all certified modalities
  • Knowledge of care standards for patients of all age groups (infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric)

Pay

Pay Range: $32.15 - $46.84

Shift Differentials: $4.25 (2nd Shift), $8.00 (3rd Shift), $4.75 (Weekend)
