About the Role
Performs medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits leadership skills, acts as a mentor and role model, works with minimal supervision, and can provide direction to the team in the coordinator/manager’s absence.
- Trains and mentors new staff and students.
- Acts as a lead tech when assigned.
- Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
- Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
- Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
- Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
- Aids and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
- Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
- P Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
- Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
- Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
- Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
Requirements
- Radiology Tech I: Demonstrated experience in a variety of diagnostic areas, including acute care experience; Currently working in an acute care setting performing a variety of diagnostic exams, including fluoroscopy (fixed and/or c-arm) and mobile imaging; American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)(R) certification; Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable); Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers; IV certification—may not be required at all sites. Previous leadership experience; 3-5 years demonstrated experience as a Radiology Technologist.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
