About the role
Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and CT procedures primarily during night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic and CT equipment to produce clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians.
- Perform various radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols.
- Initiate proper intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention.
- Review exam indications for appropriateness and report inappropriate indications to supervisor.
- Provide complete and accurate exam data for presentation to reading radiologist for interpretation.
- Utilize computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS EMR systems and perform general clerical duties.
- Archive image data for permanent storage and send images to radiologist group appropriately.
- Retrieve stored images from PACS or disc back-up and create CDs successfully.
- Demonstrate understanding of medical and legal implications related to imaging reports and images.
- Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environment, and infection control.
- Assist/mentor staff/student with on-the-job training, clinical rotations, and orientation.
- Assist with analysis, collection, and maintenance of records as required by department manager, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines, or as required by the facility or law.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT Certification – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 60 days of hire.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $26.75 – $40.00 per hour. Actual pay rate is dependent upon experience.
