Radiology Technician Intern

About the role

The Radiology Technician Intern at CHI St Alexius Bismarck will assist the registered radiology technologist in providing high-quality diagnostic radiographic procedures. This includes aiding in X-ray imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, preparing patients for procedures, and contributing to the efficiency of the radiology department.

Responsibilities

• Aid in X-ray imaging procedures under the supervision of experienced professionals
• Strictly adhere to all radiation safety protocols
• Prepare patients for procedures and ensure their comfort
• Contribute to maintaining department equipment standards and operational efficiency
• Gain a strong understanding of professional practice standards in a clinical environment
• Focus on growing professional skills within a real-world setting

Requirements

• Current enrollment as a second year student of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Must meet school of radiology program competencies for all routine radiographic procedures and specialty work
• Pursuing registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (student is registry eligible after completing an approved Radiologic Technology program)
• Basic Life Support Certification (CPR- Healthcare Provider) within 480 hours of employment and meets re-certification as required
• One year experience as a student in an approved Radiologic Technologist Program (optional, preferred)
• Completion of competency testing as established by the program director or clinical instructor (optional, preferred)

Qualifications

• Current enrollment as a second year student of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Licensure is not applicable for enrolled students
• Pursuing registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (student is registry eligible after completing an approved Radiologic Technology program)
