About the role
The Radiology Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the radiology department, ensuring smooth patient flow, and maintaining high standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Cares for the patient throughout the treatment/procedure according to department and hospital standards of care, age-specific sensitivities, and Patients' First guidelines.
- Prepares procedure rooms for patients prior to their arrival in the department and work area.
- Assists in preparing patient for exam/procedure, including explaining exams and answering basic questions.
- Aids in performing exams/procedures on patients under the direction of technologists, nurses, or physicians.
- Processes CDs as needed.
- Coordinates patient care based on departmental imaging protocols.
- Communicates with clinical and medical staff to coordinate patient flow.
- Reconciles physician orders to correct exam protocol and escalates discrepancies.
- Verifies patient information for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains equipment and work area as directed, and documents safety checklists.
- Organizes and prioritizes assigned work, and schedules time to accommodate work demands, turnaround-time, and commitments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- CPR Certification (BLS).
Preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare delivery position.
- Bilingual language skills.
