About the role

The Radiology Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the radiology department, ensuring smooth patient flow, and maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Cares for the patient throughout the treatment/procedure according to department and hospital standards of care, age-specific sensitivities, and Patients' First guidelines.
• Prepares procedure rooms for patients prior to their arrival in the department and work area.
• Assists in preparing patient for exam/procedure, including explaining exams and answering basic questions.
• Aids in performing exams/procedures on patients under the direction of technologists, nurses, or physicians.
• Processes CDs as needed.
• Coordinates patient care based on departmental imaging protocols.
• Communicates with clinical and medical staff to coordinate patient flow.
• Reconciles physician orders to correct exam protocol and escalates discrepancies.
• Verifies patient information for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintains equipment and work area as directed, and documents safety checklists.
• Organizes and prioritizes assigned work, and schedules time to accommodate work demands, turnaround-time, and commitments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• CPR Certification (BLS).

Preferred

• Previous experience in a healthcare delivery position.
• Bilingual language skills.
