Radiology Technical Assistant (PRN)

Responsibilities

• Assist with the smooth flow of diagnostic studies in all modalities as needed.
• Safely transport patients from units to CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and X-ray.
• Assist with preparation of patients for exams.
• Check patients into Epic when they present for studies and a patient representative is unavailable.

Requirements

• Proficient in filing, telephone etiquette, guest relations, and proper body mechanics for patient transport.
• Current BLS certification through any ILCOR‑provided course (e.g., Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, American Red Cross) that includes a manikin check‑off.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Possess good physical health.
• Able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time.
• Lift at least 50 pounds.
• Work in a moderate noise level.
• Physical effort: constant (67%-100%) – lifting, hearing, seeing; frequently (34%-66%) – carrying, pushing/pulling, talking; occasionally (1%-33%) – climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling/feeling.
