Radiology Tech Operating Room at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner in surgery for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas.
  • The OR Radiology Technician operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS and prepares patient’s room, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provides patient services using imaging modalities.
  • Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams preformed.
  • Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.
  • Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination: documents and deviation
  • Practices surgical aseptic procedures
  • Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Direct
  • Takes emergency call as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Licenses: Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate, Current BLS certification
  • Experience: Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical radiological exam, Ortho and Spine experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
  • Demonstrates ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions dependent on the age group of the population served
  • Demonstrates ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families in age group served
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation
