You will provide diagnostic imaging services to pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and adult patients while supporting a patient‑first, family‑like environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Demonstrate knowledge and skill to care for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and adult patients.
• Show competency in general diagnostic radiography, digital equipment, PACS system, positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors.
• Use RIS and Meditech for scheduling exams, patient tracking, image tracking, proper completion of exams, and charge capture.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions in all tasks.
• Accommodate inpatients or urgent exam requests as needed.
• Observe image artifacts and clean image detectors when necessary.
• Assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose appropriate actions.
• Obtain patient history as needed; assist the radiologist during procedures and help put patients at ease.
• Notify supervisors of any equipment issues requiring service.
• Shut down radiologic equipment and/or reboot computers safely.

Additional Job Functions

• May access radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents, and other non‑controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• May be called upon to physically witness waste and/or inventory controlled substances with another authorized individual.
• Maintain the work area, including cleaning exam rooms, mobile equipment, and stocking linen.
• Support the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System.
• Comply with system and facility safety policies; use appropriate safety equipment; report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Adhere to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrate ethical behavior.
• Report any activity that may violate applicable laws, regulations, or the Code of Conduct.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Must have either a Certificate of Training in Radiologic Technology or an Associate of Science (or higher) in Radiologic Technology.

Experience: No prior experience required; preferred experience includes hospital setting work with PACS and digital radiology.

Training: Employee will complete initial and ongoing training and competencies specific to the patient population served.

Licensure and Certifications

• Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from the Texas Medical Board (must be maintained).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification – either at hire or within six months of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Facility Overview

Methodist Hospital | Landmark expands Methodist Healthcare’s surgery services into a rapidly growing area of Northwest San Antonio. The 54‑bed hospital features 12 operating rooms, 27 private patient rooms, eight VIP rooms with private nurse stations, a four‑story parking garage, an on‑site Starbucks, and a 72,000 sq ft Medical Office Building that includes the South Texas Radiology Imaging Center (STRIC). The campus delivers a concierge‑style patient experience focused on comfort, aesthetics, and rapid healing.
