Responsibilities

• Administer radiation to produce high-quality radiographic images
• Exhibit mastery of radiographic, fluoroscopic (including mobile units), and image viewing systems and procedures
• Produce images of the highest technical quality while adhering to ALARA principles (shielding, collimation, cassette sizes)
• Demonstrate ingenuity in imaging pediatric, geriatric, trauma, and atypical patients with minimal discomfort
• Assist radiologists during fluoroscopy and other examinations, including preparing patients and exam rooms
• Administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast media, recognize adverse reactions, and take appropriate action
• Thoroughly explain procedures to patients and manage patient/exam information through electronic systems

Requirements

• Graduate of a formal Radiologic Technology program in an AMA-approved school
• Current licensure with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.)
• Current Indiana State Department of Health X-ray Operator Certificate
• Current BLS Certification
