Radiology Tech
Job Summary
As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
Responsibilities
- Deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Act as a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, demonstrating AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates, and colleagues.
- Ensure safe equipment operation before attempting any radiology procedure.
- Perform a secondary erasure on all cassettes each morning.
- Troubleshoot equipment, report all equipment downtime and malfunctions to the shift supervisor, and cooperate with service personnel for repair.
- Transport patients to the radiology department utilizing safe equipment transportation protocols.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills by greeting the patient, introducing yourself, explaining the procedure, providing a procedure timeframe, and thanking the patient, and following up on all reasonable customer requests.
- PRACTICE age-specific sensitivities.
- Interview the patient for pertinent medical history, annotate the history on the CR images, and enter a tech note in the PACS.
- Assess the patient's learning abilities, review the patient chart or physician order, and obtain consents on the patient prior to performing imaging procedures as required.
Requirements
- Required: Graduate of school of Radiologic Technology
- Medical Radiographer: CABasic Life Support - CPR
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
- Preferred: 1-3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting
