Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation safety.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, process images, and prepare the room with necessary equipment and supplies for procedures.
  • Ensure a positive patient encounter by maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling patients, overseeing patient transportation, ordering supplies, and sustaining a healthy work environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
  • RT Certification from ARRT is required.
  • South Carolina State License: SCRQSA in Radiology is required.
