Job Summary
The Radiology Team Leader serves as the modality technical expert for assigned modality and/or imaging location. The Team Leader is a “working supervisor” and is expected to perform clinically, coordinate the work of the team, and supervise the delivery of patient care.
Job Duties
- Coordinates and supervises the delivery of patient care and imaging functions within assigned locations.
- Works within the Scope of Practice of his/her specialty.
- Team Leaders maintain technical competency.
- Provides day-to-day supervision for an assigned radiology modality to include patient safety, process improvement, quality, standardization, validation of staff competency, training coordination, policy adherence, equipment and supply management.
- Safeguards all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by qualified and competent staff, ensuring they are of the highest quality achievable and follow the radiation safety principles of ALARA, ACR Guidelines for imaging practices, and ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety, if applicable.
- Works directly with lead technologists and front line staff to solve problems and reduce barriers to success.
- Collaborates with others to ensure a high level departmental safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Manages/coordinates ACR accreditation of assigned locations, if applicable.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting requirements for assigned section including American College Radiology, Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, Joint Commission, Department of Health, NRC, Department of Environmental Protection.
Position Details
- One of the following certifications is needed upon hire: ARRT(N), ARRT(R), ARRT(S), NMTCB, ARDMS.
- Minimum of 3 years-Imaging (Required), Minimum of 2 years-Leadership (Preferred).
- Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required).
