About the role
Transform your career as a Department Program Associate at NYPHVH. You will work closely with physicians and other professional staff in order to help maximize efficiency and promote patient safety by performing tasks that will allow the physicians to focus on their primary clinical function. The DPA will act as a liaison between the department’s physicians and referring physicians and will manage and facilitate all timely communication between them. The DPA will participate in performance improvement efforts in order to optimize workflow and streamline processes as well as project manage department meetings. The DPA will perform various administrative duties for the department and physician leaders.Responsibilities

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in health care or other related field.
- An Associate's degree in health care or other related field.
- Two years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- Excellent oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work variable hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
