About the role
The Radiology Medical Assistant II works closely with Radiologic Technologists in conducting patient exams by assisting in the clerical, non-technical and non-exposure aspects of the exam. The RMA II is responsible for assisting the Technologist, Radiology nurse, and Radiologist in many functions of the department.
Responsibilities
- Managing workflow
- Answering phones
- Stocking rooms
- Aiding patients to and from exam rooms and department
- Scheduling and processing exams
- Preparing for regulatory and hospital audits
- Utilizing department computer systems (PACS, EPIC, KRONOS etc.)
- Trained to start IV’s in some modalities
- Training of new medical assistants in the department or medical assistants that may have transferred in
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- LNA or comparable medical experience preferred
- Verification of high school diploma required (provide copy if invited)
- Previous hospital or health care experience preferred
Skills
Advanced skills and knowledge in RMA I duties.
Schedule
This position rotates between two work locations: 1 South Prospect Street in Burlington and UVM Medical Center main campus. Shifts could cover the following hours, with variability: 8:00am - 4:30pm, 8:30pm - 5:00pm, 10:00am - 6:30pm.
