About the role

Appalachian Vascular and Interventional Radiology (AVIR) is seeking a motivated Interventional Radiologist to join their growing practice serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. AVIR is a clinic-based IR group providing comprehensive, minimally invasive care across the Appalachian Highlands. Our physicians practice primarily at Johnson City Medical Center, a 445-bed Level I Trauma Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence, while also supporting Niswonger Children's Hospital and additional Ballad facilities throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Practice primarily at Johnson City Medical Center, a 445-bed Level I Trauma Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence, while also supporting Niswonger Children’s Hospital and additional Ballad facilities throughout the region.
  • Practice across multiple hospitals within the Ballad Health system.
  • Expand programs collaboratively with hospital leadership committed to supporting IR growth.
  • Concentrate on advanced procedures and outpatient clinic care while managing a team of five experienced Advanced Practice Providers who support inpatient consultations and perform a wide range of procedures.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Interventional Radiology.
  • Experience in clinic-based IR model with growing outpatient service lines.
  • Ability to build a robust clinical IR practice in a rural region that values interventional radiology.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong clinical and procedural skills.
