Radiologist Assistant
Job Summary
The Radiologist Assistant is a health care professional who provides primary health care services in medical imaging with physician supervision. Within the physician/RPA/RRA relationship and under the supervision, guidance and discretion of the supervising physician, RPAs/RRAs exercise autonomy in decision making in the role of a primary health care provider with regard to patient assessment, patient management and in providing a broad range of radiology diagnostic and interventional services.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an educational program recognized by the CBRPA and/or ARRT required.
- Certified by the CBRPA and/or ARRT or required.
- Maintenance of an active radiographer registration status required.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) skills.
- Maintain current levels of education in emerging techniques, procedures, and therapies by obtaining a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education each biennium as required by CBRPA and/or ARRT and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
