Radiologic Technology Program Director

About the role

The position oversees the Radiologic Technology program, focusing on student experience and success, faculty management, and academic quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement retention strategies, manage student progress, and oversee externships.
• Manage faculty activities, coordinate faculty schedules, and assist with faculty interviews.
• Ensure compliance with program and college metrics, including accreditation regulations.
• Conduct classroom observations, provide feedback to faculty, and participate in program reviews.
• Cascade relevant information to faculty and organize training sessions for their teams.
• Teach courses, coordinate textbook and supply orders, and facilitate programmatic meetings.
• Support admissions and employment services, monitor compliance with institutional and governmental standards, and prepare accreditation reports.
• Devise and implement action plans for improving program performance based on student learning outcomes data.
• Devise and implement action plans for any items not meeting the college standards or benchmarks.
• Manage program equipment and supplies, coordinate equipment and supply orders, and ensure annual calibration.
• Coordinate renewal of faculty licenses and certifications, and maintain records and reports.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or completion of a Bachelor’s degree with current enrollment in a Master’s degree program.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in diagnostic radiologic technology.
• A current Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH-RHB) certificate or permit.
• A current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, or equivalent.
• Two years of teaching experience or two years of management/supervisory/lead position or specialist experience in Radiologic Technology or related health care setting.
• A thorough knowledge of the specific program requirements and proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising.

• Doctoral degree preferred.
