About the Role
The Radiology Technologist is a certified healthcare professional responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using ionizing radiation under the supervision of an authorized user. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, patient comfort, and collaborative healthcare delivery in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient histories and position and immobilize patients to optimize imaging quality.
- Apply radiation protection principles to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Operate imaging equipment and verify informed consent for procedures.
- Document procedures accurately and assist with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography.
- Administer contrast agents as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions during imaging procedures.
Requirements
- ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology.
- State licensure (preferred).
- BLS certification.
Skills
- Patient-centered care and attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and effective communication.
- Conflict resolution and relationship building.
- Teamwork and accurate record-keeping.
- Experience with radiation safety and patient care.
- Familiarity with radiology information systems (RIS) and PACS systems.
- Training in EPIC EHR is advantageous.
