Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem

Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.
• Prepare or enter written documentation as required by the Department, such as informed patient consent, patient chart documentation, and other related duties.
• Perform portable and operating room examinations in a timely and professional manner, observing sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.
• Check equipment supplies and accessories on a regular basis.
• Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrate the ability to recognize and ally patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
• Complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards.
• Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired, physically challenged, or any other patients.
• Observe bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations.
• Perform related duties in PACS.
• Know and adhere to established hospital/department policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.
• Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust.
• Work independently/unsupervised.
• Rotate to weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
• Rotate to all article 28 off-sites.
• Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed, or deleted at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Radiology or the Director of Radiology.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
• Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology.
• NYSDOH License Required.
• ARRT Required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer knowledge preferred.

As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.

Pay

$41.99 - $52.06 / hour
