Radiologic Technologist Intern

Principle Responsibilities

• Serves as link between physicians, clinics and service departments.
• Performs limited radiographic procedures and related duties as assigned.
• Enters orders and schedules exams as needed.
• Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff.
• Captures workflow with clinics, service departments and physicians.
• Prioritizes customer needs.
• Provides information regarding special instructions, exam preps, arrival times or special needs.
• Keeps leadership advised of any issues or concerns.
• Assists Technologist in delivering patient care.
• Screens patients for exam.
• Delivers necessary imaging supplies.
• Transports, transfers and positions patient.
• Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation.
• Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures.
• Provides image and data management.
• Ensures secure and appropriate access of patient information.
• Documents image data release in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Demonstrates knowledge of the electronic storage and retrieval system (EMI).

Required Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• Currently enrolled in JRCERT accredited radiologic program-Radiologic Imaging.
• Preferred qualifications include previous patient care experience and Medical Terminology.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required by completion of orientation within 30 Days.
• State of MN. Limited scope x-ray operators exam based on the successful completion of chest, spine, extremity and skull/sinus modules. Must provide documentation of passing results.
• Current or recent participation in a clinical radiology student rotation.
• Physical Demands: Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience.
• Medical Terminology.

Pay Range

Flat Rate: $20.00 per hour.

This intern position is paid on a standard non-negotiable hourly rate. Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
