Radiologic Technologist Intern
Principle Responsibilities
- Serves as link between physicians, clinics and service departments.
- Performs limited radiographic procedures and related duties as assigned.
- Enters orders and schedules exams as needed.
- Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff.
- Captures workflow with clinics, service departments and physicians.
- Prioritizes customer needs.
- Provides information regarding special instructions, exam preps, arrival times or special needs.
- Keeps leadership advised of any issues or concerns.
- Assists Technologist in delivering patient care.
- Screens patients for exam.
- Delivers necessary imaging supplies.
- Transports, transfers and positions patient.
- Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation.
- Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures.
- Provides image and data management.
- Ensures secure and appropriate access of patient information.
- Documents image data release in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Demonstrates knowledge of the electronic storage and retrieval system (EMI).
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED.
- Currently enrolled in JRCERT accredited radiologic program-Radiologic Imaging.
- Preferred qualifications include previous patient care experience and Medical Terminology.
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required by completion of orientation within 30 Days.
- State of MN. Limited scope x-ray operators exam based on the successful completion of chest, spine, extremity and skull/sinus modules. Must provide documentation of passing results.
- Current or recent participation in a clinical radiology student rotation.
- Physical Demands: Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous patient care experience.
- Medical Terminology.
Pay Range
Flat Rate: $20.00 per hour.
This intern position is paid on a standard non-negotiable hourly rate. Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
