Radiologic Technologist

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepares the patient for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning the patient appropriately.
  • Correctly operates equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue.
  • Completes necessary requisitions and schedules exams accurately.
  • Performs diagnostic Radiographic, Fluoroscopic, and CT exams both in the department and with portable equipment.
  • Injects IV contrast media, as needed.
  • Performs various examinations, reconstructions, and printing protocols.
  • Determines and reports mechanical and electronic equipment failures.
  • Explains the procedure to the patient and addresses any questions about the equipment or procedure.
  • Moves and transports patients within the department as required.
  • Orders necessary supplies and maintains par levels.
  • Attends required in-services and orientations.
  • Collaborates with floor staff to provide excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and hold a current state license (as required).
  • Hold ARRT or CMRT certification.
  • Have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
  • Be current with Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.
  • Experience operating facility-specific equipment is desirable.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state license as a Radiologic Technologist.

Skills

  • Proficiency in operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in patient preparation and equipment operation.

Pay

  • $38 per hour for Per Diem schedule.
