About the role
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under supervision, utilizing radiography, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging to assist in patient diagnosis across all ages.
Responsibilities
- Perform proper patient positioning for diagnostic imaging.
- Operate radiologic imaging equipment, including radiography, fluoroscopy, and portable devices.
- Practice radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate and schedule imaging exams within departments.
- Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained, disinfected, and functional.
- Perform venipunctures as required for imaging procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with staff/patient education.
- Administer relevant drugs per established procedures when necessary.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Valid state Radiologic Technologist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
