Radiologic Technologist

About the role

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under supervision, utilizing radiography, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging to assist in patient diagnosis across all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Perform proper patient positioning for diagnostic imaging.
  • Operate radiologic imaging equipment, including radiography, fluoroscopy, and portable devices.
  • Practice radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Coordinate and schedule imaging exams within departments.
  • Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained, disinfected, and functional.
  • Perform venipunctures as required for imaging procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with staff/patient education.
  • Administer relevant drugs per established procedures when necessary.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • Valid state Radiologic Technologist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Skills

  • Proficiency in radiologic techniques and imaging equipment operation.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and protection measures.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under stress and maintain professionalism.
  • Compassionate care for patients of all ages.
