About the role
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under physician supervision, utilizing various imaging techniques to aid in patient diagnosis across all ages.
Responsibilities
- Executing all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures, including radiography, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging, while ensuring radiation safety.
- Using sterile techniques when necessary and demonstrating proper patient positioning and technical settings.
- Operating diagnostic equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, PACS, and offsite radiologist services.
- Reviewing patient history via computer systems, documenting studies accurately, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Coordinating exams efficiently within the department and with other units, communicating effectively with staff, patients, and their families.
- Handling scheduling, inquiries, and equipment maintenance, including cleaning and notifying vendors of issues.
- Administering medications or biologicals pertinent to imaging procedures per hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current ARRT certification.
- Valid Nebraska Medical Radiographer license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
